[help] Where to put AveTunes skins?

hello everyone, i am new to this forum and do not know where to post this...i thought this would be the best place.

I recently installed avedesk and love it. I have a few of the deault desklets already configured to my liking but i really wanted the avetunes desklet which doesnt come with the installer i downloaded. I am really confused at how you get custom desklets working. I download new desklets and they come in the .aveinst file format. I dont know what to do with them. I see no "load new desklets" option in avedesk so i am confused. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for making such a great application for the public and I hope to get it working soon.

To load .aveinst files, simply double-click them (or if that doesn't work, drag them into the desklets control panel). They will install themselves, then you can use the "add desklets" menu option in the desklets control panel in AveDesk.

thank you very much. One more quick question. How can i get new skins from deviant art to be used in avetunes instead of the default ones it comes with?

I would recommend looking around the forum here, just try searching for "avetunes" and you'll fine a whole bunch of different skins.

ah sorry, i didnt mean to say it like that. I have already downloaded custom skins but how do i get them to work in avetunes once they are downloaded on my desktop.

Go to your AveDeskDeskletsAveTunesSkins folder and place the skin in there, in a separate folder. Then, in the Avedesk Control Panel, Add a new desklet and under the AveTunes (or iTunes) desklet, choose the skin you want to use. This is for 1.2... I should probably upgrade...

I noticed that in the 1.1 version i first downloaded they had hard drive desklets. Are those included in the 1.3 version and if not could i get that drive desklet at a site?

You'll want to use the Pidlshortcut desklet for shortcuts. Linking to a harddrive should give the same right-click options as the old hard drive desklet.
