Fonts In Windows

Hey guys!

Firstly, if the thread is in the wrong category, please forgive me :shy: , i didnt know where to put it. Duckie or GOKU* or any other mod, please be so kind as to relocate it if its causing any problems.

Second, this might sound as a stupid question, actually i thought so before!, but it has now gone over my capacity of understanding hehehe...

Ok, so heres the deal, win xp pro does not recognize the new fonts ive been adding to the fonts system folder (%systemroot%/windows/fontsdo correctme if im wrong) in ttf format as well as other before recognized formats.:rant:

However, after some of them being recognized by word, dreamweaver and photoshop (the absolute minimum percentage!! ) the rest dont seem to appear on the lists of any rich text formatng able program.

Do any of you know why this might happen and how to fix it? :angry:

Any help would be as usual greatly appreciated. (Y)

well, this may sound dumb, but did you try going to the fonts folder and opening it? Maybe that will make the system install the fonts there... that's what i do when i install new fonts and it does not pick up.

I dont know a lot but this happens to me in a certain way.

For example, I add a lot of Myriad fonts I have, like 20 files, and in word only 4 appear. But when I go to photoshop and I select one of this fonts in the type menu (normal, bold, italic) a lot more appear like "Bold Condensed", "Bold Condensed Italic", "Semiextended" etc.

Are the fonts you are adding all different? or they are of the same set?

Try looking in photoshop to the right of the font dropdown menu, is the style one where bold, italic , etc is. Try looking there if somethign happens.
