[release] 10plus2

Hello. This is the promised new desklet based on the pcm's AveScripter engine for AveDesk. This one is called 10plus2, and it was inspired by the Konfabulator widget of the same name.

The idea of this desklet is to plan your work and rest time during your work day in a simple yet effective manner: work for ten minutes, then have a rest for two minutes, and then repeat. I tried this scheme at my job and I'm pretty pleased with it. We, computer slaves, should really have some tool wich would tell us, that it's time to have a hike or a cup of tea, or just to look at the window. This widget (first the Konfab version, then my variant for AveDesk) really helps me here @ my job. Hope, it will help you.

The only reason why I made this desklet is because I don't like Konfab and AveDesk running concurently in the same time (and two "Dashboards" with two different hotkeys are bad for my health). I like AveDesk best, so I decided to switch fully to it. Now I'm porting and sometimes looking for the things I miss. And this is not 1:1 port, because I was too lazy and busy to look for the Ten Plus Two 4 Konfab author and ask for a port permission. All graphics and algorithms are mine from scratch - only idea remains the same.

Well, enough said. Get it!

If you don't have the time displayed, then you probably need Chicago font. Unfortunately, you'll have to reboot after installing it.

And tell me somebody what to do with my signature. I'd like to put this release in there, but I cant - it is now 478 chars long, when maximum is 500 chars.

Wow, just what I needed :)

About the sig: make links to the thread only I would say - in the thread, add the "install | download | discuss | donate|" links

Super!! Rimmer your my hero :P

#341597

Hmm, for some reasons silent version is more popular, tho noisy one is more usable (you don't have to spend 5 minutes of 10 looking on the desklet isn't it the time to have a rest)

You should make it configurable, sound/no sound.

that way people aren't bugged with beeps when they don't need it.

(i didn't run the desklet so i don't really know what's in it already)

#341729

Well, I though quite the same, but do you imagine where to put that checkbox?

#342009

Sweet! Now I can get rid of the (ugly) Konfab widget that does this! (and this one uses less RAM!) All hail Ave! (and Rimmer!))

#342128

You know Rimmer, you don't have to have the sides equal. Look at the "News Ticker" for an example. You'll notice that the back side is not the same size as the front side.

This would allow you to have more options set.

Yeah, pcm, I know, but that doesn't look nice... I'm perfectionist, as my girl says

#342395

You could make 1 flip to the sound option on/off and another flip to the configuration :P

#342673

Nice idea, pcm, thank you. I also wish to remake all the graphics, I don't like it now

#342787

Good job, have a try:)
