which card will offer the better performance?

This is a simple question but i really cant say that i think the cards will be that far off of each other. So which ones better? (Btw i have agp)

(this one is £149.99 excluding vat and its in stock and can be delivered the next day but im not too sure about its memory clock settings and the 6800 series was supposed to be better than the x800 series overall as ive heard from a few hardware forums) This card is supposed to be easily overclockable and also its cheaper and has more pipelines than the GS but i want to know if its worth it cancelling my order and getting this instead)

In my opinion i would rather save up and invest in a 7800gt, offers much better performance overall and some places you can find it a bit more than what you pay for a 6800Gs or X800x.l

But if u want the ones you listed, try looking for some reviews and benchmarks from websites such as www.tomshardware.com, www.guru3d.com, before deciding,

I would get the X800xl as the 6800gs sits under the capabilities of the x800xl, in terms of overclocking, and is worth the price, but it's up to you though, here's a review to help u out, not the same card, but good review!

but it doesn't support shader module 3.0 will that effect much?....i mean performance wise will this card be a great deal better than the 6800gs or around the same level as i need to know relatively soon as im placing my order soon

at the moment sm3.0, i don't think, isn't used that much. so for current games it should be fine.

you may have to upgrade later to a pci-e card when games start surpporting sm3 more.

other wise go for the ati

Is the 6800GS the 'fastest' AGP Card available? Or would that be the 6800GTU? Or what.. I'm gonna be stuck with agp for a while, so i'm just wondering.

Dosnt the 6800GS have 12 pipelines, and the X800XL have full 16 pipes? Plus not to mention X800XL's core clock is 400mhz and 6800GS is 425mhz, some GS goes up to 485 but the standard is 425 atleast the ones offered in newegg, the link you gave has a core clock of 400mhz. There both in the same price ratio, but for the extra pipes id definitly get the X800XL, plus HIS is a much better brand then XFX imo. But its up to you man.
