Aaargh...guys...I've noticed I'm getting some really bad gradients with photoshop at the mo...I have CS2 and ps7 and gradients are really bad!
Strange thing is if I render with Bryce and export the image as a bitmap or ps file it opens up ok in Fireworks. Still renders on screen in Bryce ok too!
I'm almost at the reinstall Photoshop stage but I'll have to downgrade to ps6...you know what I mean here.
Any tips?
Uh yeah actually. I'm not that smart (really, i'm only 11.)
Check all your photoshop statistics and resolutions. Make sure you got to "veiw>>veiw actuall pixels" to see your image in actual size without any mis readings.
And one other thing: Have you installed any plugins,brushes,gradients,styles,filters, etc?

I thought I'd post a pic to show the problem...
The 'bottom' pic is the render bmp taken into Imageready, the 'top' pic is the same file open in photoshop. Any banding on the bottom pic is due to jpg optimisation...it's fine in real life!
Any editing done with photoshop produces the same degradation ie banding and poor colour depth. I'm using the default colour settings with both proggies.
I even installed ps6 and I still get the same problem. Any ideas?
Thanks for those sunb1rd and ghostboy...it's just that ps won't open and display the images correctly and stuffs them if you resave...grrr!
Imageready and Fireworks and painter and ms paint...no probs...just ps. I need ps badly!
Edit 7 hours later...problem solved! it was the blasted driver that came with the philips monitor...all is well, phew!
