I'm in need of serious help.
Why would uninstalling Flyakite OSX mess my entire computer up? And yes, I know for a fact that it was Flyakite that did it.
I've used flyakite for some time now, but I've traded my fondness for the OSX look for the look of Windows Vista. I figured I shouldn't run Flyakit OSX alongside WindowBlinds because who knows what problems that would cause me. I clicked the uninstaller link, which led me to believe that this thing could in fact properly uninstall itself, and VOILA! I no longer have a taskbar. Most things that are Explorer-related, or most things that require Explorer do not work. That's not to say Explorer.exe isn't running, because it is. BUT! I have no taskbar, and worst of all......... SYSTEM RESTORE DOESN'T WORK!! Yay.
Now, the only conclusion that I can come to is that, since Flyakite modifies just about every system file, most importantly shell32.dll, I'm up the creek without a paddle. I'm assuming that the backups that Flyakite makes when you install it didn't get reinstalled correctly. Furthermore, Flyakite deletes the folder it creates in C:Windows, so there is no chance of me doing anything about it on my own.
I can't even repair/re-update from the Windows XP disk, I'm going to have to completely reinstall to fix this.
I would really like to avoid the hassle of reinstalling Windows, so any insight on what the problem may be and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated. I know I don't really post here, in fact, I think this will be my 3rd of 4th post, but I've come here for help because everyone here is pretty nice and helpful.
Thanks in advance.
