Here's what I'm thinking an application that will automatically close certain applications when others open and then will open them again when none of those applications are open.
There would be two .ini files one would be called close.ini and this file would contain shortcuts to all the applications you want to have running at startup but don't want running when you're running something full-screen an example of the type of applications you would put in here would be you dock, widjet program, spotlight clone, Windowsblinds, and antivirus.
The other .ini (when.ini)would contain applications like games and other full-screen applications or applications that you don't want anything to slow them down. "perhaps even when your defragmenting files."
Here's a really simple algorithim for how it would work:
if any program in when.ini is running then quit all applications in close.ini
if no applications in when.ini are running then launch applications in close.ini that are not open.
I would prefer to do this myself but I'm not quite good enough in any programming language to figure out how to tell when something's running and even close another application or start one. I really think this would help a lot of people in this community (mea and me) but this could also really help clear up all those shortcuts in the startup folder because this could just launch all those programs.
Hope somebody wil make this soon.
(if it's already been made tell me I wasn't really sure what to search for on the forums to find it.)
