I have the newest version of both iTunes and Multi-plugin. I used to have a 3g iPod, but I just got a 5g. Now whenever I plug in my iPod it will start to transfer the songs then crash after a little while... or it will transfer them all then the album art and songs are all messed up on the iPod.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, but it still doesnt work. Any suggestions?

did you go ahead and clear all relative registry entrys and misc folders iTunes uses then re-install?

No I haven't uninstalled iTunes. I didnt think that problem would be iTunes, because whenever I take out mplugin it runs flawlessly.
I am also having this problem. Just got my 5G today and for the first time ever (as far as I can remember iTunes is crashing.)
Im going to uninstall M-Plugin and see if that fixes it. I just hope that I havent been conned into buying a lemon...

unistalling mplugin fixes it... thats what i did, but you cant reinstall it because if you do and plug your ipod back in it will just do the same thing and rewrite all the stuff on your ipod with messed up tracks.... no fun
I guess its a toss up between customizing iTunes appearance and its functionality until the issue is fixed by localhost

Yup... I can confirm this. I'm quite down now because I really find iTunes irritating without mplugin.
Hopefully there will be a fix soon... any idea if it is a particular option that is causing the problem?

BTW do you mean the software on my computer (ie. iTunes etc) or the firmware on the ipod?
I have the same problem. It will update a couple hundred songs and then it will crash. So if you are planing on updating thousands of songs, disable mplugin. That's what I did 
If you are only updating a couple of albums, it will do it fine (at least mine does)

I tried this. After I put all my songs on it I reinstalled multiplugin... but thats when it messed up ALL my album are and stuff on my iPod :-
i reinstalled the firmware and itunes/quicktime as wel as mplugin, and while of got further (1/4 of the way thru a sync) it still crashed on me.
Got rid of mplugin and it works fine.

All my album art will show different album art from what is actually playing.
For example if Brand New - Deja Entendu was playing... I might see a Thursday CD cover.
I reinstalled the firmware for my ipod and it works fine now with mplugin.
Another idea that just entered my head-try selecting a couple hundred at a time to go to your iPod. Then when those are done go to the next batch, and soforth until you're done.
I'd test this idea out and find out just how many it will take before dying, but I don't even have an iPod. As in at all.
I am still in the woods on this one- I have finnaly given up on mplugin in the meantime.
@Ali C- the only problem with your suggestion is that I have over 3000 songs to sync so it could take up to 30 goes to get it right... and even then if it screws up halfway through I would have to start again

I'm having the same problem.. whenever I try to update more than 50-100 songs, iTunes crashes.. and I'm left with tracks with screwed up album art. (Either blank and black, or the wrong album.)
I really like Mplugin, but I had to uninstall it

After about 5 reboots, 10 different installs of iTunes, QuickTime, Multi-Plugin and after all that didn't work and I just started using foobar I found the answer...LUCK.
Most of the time iTunes works some times well....)*$)@*4 iTunes.
