I have seen Taha use it in screenshots but i have never had a actual reason to have to use it. Now i need to because i am networking computers in my house together. Anyway, where can i get this prog? How much does it cost? Or is it a router? Please answer. I think it was either VPS or VPN, i know it began with V and i know that with it you can remote control another computer on a network. Where can i get it?
How Do You Use Vps Or Was It Vpn?
okay, it was called Vnc and i got it installed but i can't connect to the server.
You need to run the VNC SERVER on the host computer.
You need to run VNC VIEW on the guest computer.
OR
You can use Remote Desktop Connect. It is on the XP Install CD.
Do you think TightVNC is better? On linux, it drags on my 100mbit LAN. Nothing beats RealVNC.
If you hover over the sys tray icon in your server, it will list all the IPs that are you can connect to to get to that computer, and make sure you put a password on, otherwise it wont work.
i know about guest and server comp its just that i cannot connect. I turn on VNC server on the computer i want to connect to and VNC Viewer on my computer. Now what? I try connecting using the VNC Viewer but i don't know the VNC Server's name (how do i find it?) then i go to the server computer and i try add a client but i don't know the clients display name (how do i find that out?)
BTW Taha does Remote Desktop connect work with Windows XP connecting to Windows ME? or only XP to XP?
ok thanks Contrusta, i didn't know i was supposed to put in the ip address, on the Real VNC site they have snoopy2 as an example
RealVNC and TightVNC are both good IMO.
@flarex: no, I think its only XP2XP..
and yes, you're supposed to put in the IP address of the host computer, and you have to have setup the port and the password..
