Aqua Emu on PSP

Just thought you'd all find it interesting that there is an active program available to emulate the Aqua GUI on the PSP. It's called X5, released by the guys at psp3d.com. X5 is what's called a portal, which is basically a very fancy webpage, usually made to emulate an OS. X5 comes with several HTML/Java based games and apps, and I enjoy it a lot. The only thing I didn't like was the original GUI, which was a negative version of the Aqua GUI. I returned the GUI to normal by inverting all the GUI elements in Photoshop, then inverting all the hex codes in the HTML pages used to run X5. The result is a beautifully recreated OS X interface on my PSP! Here are some pics- sorry about the quality; the PSP is incapable of exporting screenshots.

erm. nothing revolutionary. it's just the same old portals, which are IMO CRAP. it's prettified in that one, but it's still the same old portal junk that is USELESS.

To each his own, I suppose. Just posting because it's Aqua related. I find it useful to have several links at the ready (i.e. E-Messenger, Mobile AIM, GMail, etc). Plus a few games are handy. I use the PSP for some mobile messaging, email, and limited web browsing, so I find the portal useful. Sure it doesn't emulate ROMS or anything, but I get good use out of it.

yeah...i have 2.6 and now have to wait patiently for either a downgrader or an eboot loader. But in the meantime I have things such as this to keep me entertained

i did not bash anyones work. it fact is portals suck. they can only use the javascript that works with psp and just prettify links to external webpages or some crappy javasccript apps. yes it looks better than those other portals, but it's still a portal and can't do anything for real-- which is why people make apps for psp.

im a psp owner. portals are great. its a colection of links on 1 page that makes it simpler to get to all the sites u want to go to instead of having to type them out on that damn "keyboard" like a cell phone that takes and hour to type a sentence. (ok less time then that, so sue me)

and yes it pretyfy's links. thats sorta what aqua is about, pretty...

we could do without all the apps and skins we have on this site, but we like it to look good, so we aquafy it. they did the same thing with the psp portal.

since u obviously dont like aqua, why the hell are you here?

btw do you know there are bookmark features in psp? instead of loading and clicking around just use the bookmarks and don't waste memory card space.

you're comparing two different things. if you make windows pretty then it doesn't look ugly and make you puke and you can use it because it's your OS.. if you make portal pretty you get to look at something pretty, but in the end it's just a link page which is easily replaced by using bookmarks

1.i dont want to get into a war about this but when i say u dont like aqua it was becuase ur bashing somthing cause it was prettyfyed, wich is aqua-soft in most ways, makeing things pretyfyed.

2.yes i kno that there is a bookmarking feature, but, i dont use 2.0 and up im 1.5. no built in browser.

3.i dont think it matters if u have a mac or not, kinda irrelevant.

4.waste memory card space? its only 1 meg. and i dont have it on my psp. i have it on my server, total ms useage, 0.
