Weird iTunes Superimposition?

I have this weird issue with iTunes. I have all my music on one giant playlist and I put it on shuffle. For some reason, when I'm not focused on iTunes and the song switches, the text from the previous screen starts to get jumbled up with the text from the next one. It clears up when I minimize the screen and maximize again, but it's still really irritating. It's the point that I'm considering switching back to Winamp. I'm using v. 6.0.1.3, and every time I update to the newest version, the problem persists. Any help would be appreciated.

I have run into the same problem... only happens when i have my whole library playing as the playlist... I can simply scroll the screen and it fixes itself. I have a feeling this is an issue when you have an extensive amount of song information loading in one playlist... my solution has been to just go to mini-mode and remember that even with this small bug, itunes is still the best media player I'm yet to use... and gotta love the music store for fast lookups and research...

this happens to me when i have some window always-on-top and itunes is underneath.

dragging the topmost window reveals a scrambled area in itunes... but it's nothing to worry too much about. itunes rocks!

It happens to me from time to time.

If anyone has it and doesn't use Multi-Plugin, please post here.

I'd like to know if it has to do with Multi-Plugin.

Well I've had similar problems with I have iTunes on my secondary monitor.

I, however, do not have the specific problem you are, and I do not use Multi-Plugin.

Same problem here also. Tried iTunes without multiplugin and it still occured. I'm think it could be to do with a large library size but am not sure?

#335796

side note: i actually ran into a much more severe problem when i used to use winamp. having an extensive playlist cause winamp to stall drastically and would lag when trying to scroll thru the list. also if a song was playing and i tried to scroll it would cause the song to stop and lag and ya know...just suck

itunes does give me problems, like i said above, but i do not run into lagging or system slowdowns...

Hmm..image jumbling issues...sounds like what I just posted a plea for help for in the plugin 2.2 thread.:| But it doesn't do it to me unless multiplugin is on. And because I can't stand the ugly Windows look, I prefer to just fight it.:P

My problem is that minimizing and maximizing it doesn't do any good.:o

Everything was fine until Saturday...

I get the same problems:

Now, when I open iTunes and keep working on Firefox, it simply appears completely black!! As parts get refreshed, they appear, but it sucks.

And when iTunes is out of focus, the playlist gets all messed up too.

That already happened to me with older versions of iTunes and MultiPlugin, but I believe it's something with WinXP's latest updates this time...

localhost, please save our iTunes!!!

#341437

Yikes. Sounds worse than normal.:|

localhost, whatever it is it affects iTunes now even after removing MPlugin. I tried repairing iTunes in the Add/Remove programs but still screwed up. I have found something peculiar-I tried the unusual and dumped resources. After that, the jumbling lessened and in some cases fixes itself. Eeeexcept under the cursor. I'm not updated since the last try with this.

Hope this helps. If you ask me I'd say it's some kind of transparency issue, regardless of MPlugin setting.

I wish I could find the source of this, but I have this happening once a month or such so I cant test it thoroughly.

#343343

i have found a way to reproduce this problem.... it happens to me when i have itunes open and in window view (library viewable) with firefox in focus above it. the playlist gets all jumbled when the song changes while firefox is in focus... i have foxytunes enabled, allowing me to change songs to test the issue...

#345698

that doesn't reproduce the problem here...

#345801

Try wiggling the Firefox window over iTunes like crazy and see what ya get.:P

#347543

I tried wiggling many windows over the iTunes window, nothing seems to do the trick.

#347569

just a few ideas to make yours the same as mine...

running foxytunes plugin for firefox

multiplugin applied to itunes

itunes library in view, in shuffle mode, playing for longer than 1 hour

album art showing

trillian running (?!?!)

WB4.? applied

Yz Shadow, Toolbar, Dock

Hopefully some combination of the above will do the trick... btw are you in excess of 1 gig ram?

#347586

I've added FoxyTunes, doesn't do anything.

I use WB 4 too, and I have iTunes opened for a couple of days in full mode with album art showing.

Later I'll try using Y'z Shadow/Toolbar/Dock and see what happens.

and I have 1GB of RAM.

#347599

Ohhh... could it be Yzshadow? Anyway I've placed it on the exclusion list in Yz just to test.

Same problem here. :(

#348125

i like how the original poster has never commented back on this topic... has he/she found a solution, or just not care anymore... hmmm

#348166

Today I made my weekly visit to Windows Update (XP Pro SP2 here) and also downloaded the newest iTunes (6.0.2.23) and the problem now is gone, except by a black box when iTunes is started and Mini Store is open (with MP2.2 installed).

#348319

Hmm. Maybe Apple was the trouble..!?

I don't want to download that until localhost tosses out a MP update, which is gonna take anotehr month. Waaa.

I don't want to try because I'm worried I'll instead get hit with that 'MP couldn't patch itunes' thing and I'll be stuck with the cruddy windows looking mess like I am when I need to extract audio with QuickTime.:(

Yeah I know...System Restore...but I tread carefully with that thing when it did such a bad job on my comp and I had to reinstall Windows.:X

The less I have to touch it the better.

#351205

you can try it and if you arent happy you can re-dl 6.0.1... thats what i ended up doing...

#351244

My problem seems to have been related to minimize to tray function. Disabling that and so far, touch wood, it seems to be fine.

#359024

^Really? I'll check that out.
