[help] iTunes problem?

I recently installed iTunes 6.01 and I've noticed that it sometimes takes up to 85 MB of the system memory, most of the time it's about 60 MB. Before it was always like 50 MB. This wouldn't trouble me so much but now when I'm viewing photos in Picasa, or when I'm doing something in Dreamweaver of Flash 8, an iTunes is playing, the sound is interuppted, something like a broken record.

Anyone knows what this is about? Maybe because of my big library (35 GB, 10000 songs)? Or is it my sound card (integrated SoundStorm on Abit motherboard, using the digital out)?

I would try to install iTunes 5 again but i don't have the installer anymore.

Anywas if someone has a sollution please let me know.

Thnx!

Are you using Mplugin? That might help reduce the memory...

-NC

Yes I'm using MPlugin and the Milk skin. I tried removing it, but it's the same. Strange, everything worked perfeclty before.

My comp specs:

AMD Athon 2500+ Barton

1 GB of DDR RAM

ATI 9600 Pro graphic card

SoundStorm sound on Abit NF7-S motherboard

And I've just tried playing some files in WM Player and Winamp, and it works ok, so it has something to do with iTunes.

go into controll panel and goto quicktime and look for the audio tab, then select safe mode (wave out only) and restart ur computer. that should fix any skiping u have.

Ups, I was to quick to reply. It still happens, it's just not that often.

Can I try anything else?
