I was wondering if someone can tell me how I can recolor images with Photoshop. Take for example, a scrollbar from the default Aqua theme. It is composed of blue gradiants, but what happens if I wanted to replace these blue gradiants with purple gradiants instead. What features in Photoshop would help me do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
[help] recoloring in Photoshop
make a new layer, use the brush tool to paint purple over the blue, and then set the layer's blending mode to hue. (not color, hue is way better)
You could do that, or you could just select the area you want to change, add new adjustment layer, hue and saturation, and just play aroud with it till you get the colours you want. Or perhpas try a gradient map, also under adjustment layers.
EDIT ^ Beat me to it, Bummer
Not even THAT difficult. Select the default layer, hit CTRL+U or Option+U on the Mac, (I assume) to open the Hue/Saturation Dialog, play with the sliders and mod to you hearts content! ![]()
Thanks everyone, these are great suggestions and all work perfectly!
sorry to bump this, but i was wondering how you get into the resources of the skin itself. I regularly see people posting their screenshots saying for example "ruler mod by me". How do they access the colors and such.
I'm on xp using windowblinds... familiar with reshacker to some degree... have no idea how to get to the resources of skins and themes
Skinstudio for windowblinds, then open the theme with it and send the resources you want to "mod" to photoshop or some other image editing program ![]()
