Ok, I replaced my shell32.dll with the snow shell32.dll from the folks at the Hardware Geeks.com forums. They had both the 1106 and 1145 versions posted.
When I went to replace my own dlls, I found I had both versions.
The 1145 in my System32 folder, and the 1106 in my ServicePackFiles\i386 folder. I did not have a shell32.dll in my dllcache folder.
So, I replaced the 1145 with the new 1145, and same with the 1106.
Now, my icons are like this:
![]()
When I view my C:\ drive from Explorer, the icons haven't changed. But when I go to open a file from another program, the files changed.
Yes, I did try putting the 1145 in each folder. Didn't work. Haven't tried the 1106 in both, didn't know what that might do to my computer ![]()
Thanks for any help!
