how to give contrast to an image

Ok i have a few sceneary images i would like to remove words from (such as location or website) and i would like to remove colour and make it a black n white how would i go about.. these wudnt be for release really but for personal use..

I would say to google tutorials for whatever image editor you have.

What smovie said. We need to know what image editor you will be using.

No use having everyone telling you how to do it with Photoshop (or some other program) if you don't have the program, or have no experience with the program.

Most image editors with have a built-in tool to change saturation.

Removing text requires a little more skill.

If you ask nicely, maybe someone here will do it for you

just got rid of color data by switching it to grayscale and used stamp tool to blend the letters. i could have done a better job if you need.

well to add color to eyes and such i would make a new layer above the image and next to opasity where it says normal change to multiply. then use the brush and the color u want to change the color. to change the size goto the dropdown menu image then to image size.

i like what you did iwth the tree but is there anyway to keep the green from going on the water part..i like the cameran diaz thing you ahve done except i was thinking of a diff approach iw ould have to work with it.. but like how did u color only the leaves/eyes im pretty sure you didnt youse the brush to colour it in.. unless u did (i mean there must b a simpler way)

there are many ways to do it. the way i did was with the brush. there is a way to just to the leaves but i didnt go into that much detail. if you had the color version of the tree one there is a really simple way to do it. do you have aim or yahoo messenger? if so just msg me and i could explain a little easyer.
