Which one of Iceman's system files deals with changing Internet Explorer's icon, especially on the desktop? I am using the non-SP1 system files.

Nope, it still hasn't changed. :blink: Well in the start menu the IE icon has changed, but not on the desktop. Maybe the control panel files might be responsible for it?? If so which one?

Taha is right, it's in the iexplore.exe. I think winblows has a copy of it in system32/dllcache or somewhere else, like every windows app. When you change it, the system replaces it with the original file. Just rename the originals to iexplore.exe.bat or something, and replace them with the reshacked ones.

Yes, it's in iexplore.exe, but if you use an icon replacement program (like IconPackager) you must change the Internet Explorer icon in your current set too. :lol:

Yes, that's what I did. I changed the previous iexplore.exe to iexplore.bak in the dllcache folder, and placed Iceman's version there. I also replaced the iexplore.exe in my ProgramFiles\InternetExplorer directory. All this only changed the IE icon in the start menu, but not on the desktop, which was my original concern when I started the thread.

Maybe I'm just missing something or didn't do it right? What should I do?
