Is animated wallpaper possible?

Hi there,

I was using Tiger OS (the real OS, not a skin) a while ago and noticed that Apple has included animated changing wallpaper into their OS. It was pretty cool.

I haven't seen this incorporated in any of the themes yet and was wondering if it is even possible. Does anyone have the images that Apple uses for the ir default wallpaper animations?

i dont know if you would want to make it in flash unless you were going to make an animated gif cause it really lags the system when the window is that big, even when u make it an web page or whatever.

Hi guys,

You can't post .swf files as a windows background. Even if you could though, it would be a crazy memory hog.

I found a program called 'moving desktop', but it requires the full version to do the 'fade' transition between images. There must be a free program somewhere...

Edit:

I found a program that allows you to post swf as wallpaper. It's called Yamicsoft Flash Desktop...It's not free though

if you wanted to do flash, make a new file and the dimensions as big as your desktop.....save as a html and then select it as a wallpaper in display properties. it shouldnt lag your comp if you have a decent pc

Control click on the desktop and select 'change desktop background' > Select any folder of mac images or your own above the divide on the left hand menu, then check the 'Change picture every...' box on the bottom of the window.
