iTunes qcd skin problem

Hey guys, I really need some help with this one. Its been bugging me(no pun) for a while! <_<

I have the latest QCD player with the latest iTunes skin and I love it, it looks great but there is a problem with the highlighting of the song list.

Look here. This is a shot of it without any songs loaded. Looks fine right? Well it is.

Now look below.

iTunesbad.jpg

As you can see all of the songs are highlighted in blue. The problem is I cannot deselect them to un-highlight them. They are constantly dark blue like this and it is started to really bug me! Some assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Just use the latest version of QCD (like it says on the box, the packaging crate and the truck that deilvers it to your home and the forehead tattoo of the truck driver).

The latest version of QCD is 3.40 B36. Get it at www.quinnware.com/development.html.

Is this Better? It's a modded SpidercrabX skin. He might not like me to upload it to you...

Here's a Pm by GameBoyzGB:

"FYI. If you look in the Readme of the QCD skin browser when selecting iTunes, you will see that I am the originator of the skin and SpidercrabX has my permission. :)"

I just removed the scrollbar on the bottom of the playlist and altered the colourscheme with the selected songs.

Other than that it's pretty much SpidercrabX's original skin.

Hope that helps.

Uh spidercrab, I believe I said I already have the latest version of QCD.(which I do)

I have the latest QCD player with the latest iTunes skin and I love it, it looks great but there is a problem with the highlighting of the song list.

Thanks for trying anyways. You did an amazing job on this skin though. With that one exception, this is hands down the best way to emulate iTunes!:)

Nobski thanks a bunch. I owe you one. ;) That moded skin rules!

Lets not forget Spidercrab, who IMHO did a kick-ass job on the original :-D Well done sir! :)

Now if only QCD would use the DFX Plugin...that would make MY LIFE :-p

Jmitch - Are you sure you are using the B36 version of QCD? I get so many messages from people saying they are having the exact same problem and it always turns out to be that they don't have the latest version of QCD. Your display shows the track display area without any transparency. This is a feature added to QCD after about version 3.40 B33. Double double check you have QCD version 3.40 B36 in the QCD - Credit &Tips. Version B35 was pretty good but the new B36 is rock stable and has some new great features.

You should also use the current version of the iTunes3 skin which is version 3.4a. Let me know how it goes.

MDZ61384 - QCD can use DFX. Just install Winamp DFX in the QCD plug-ins directory and enjoy.

*GASP!*

Holy crow! I am such a retard. spidercrab your were right. I only have

B32!!! And I thought I had checked it thoroughly too.

The one thing is I downloaded the latest version from the qcd website. How the heck could I have download the latest version and get B32!? Where can I get the real latest version and the real latest skin? If you have a site please post it!!

#3079

Ah, thank you MDZ61384 greatly. :D

#3086

MDZ61384's information is correct. The problem is usually that people go to the Quinnware site and download QCD from the main page. However, this is the last non beta version and you have to go to the development area to get the latest version.

Jmitch - glad you got sorted.

#3087

No problem guys, glad I could be of help to you :)

Spidercrab...do you think in future versions we will be able to resize QCD? Just curious...you've done a great job on the skin! I love it :) (Though graphite would work better with my color scheme...but the one we have right now is kick ass)

#3169

MDZ61384 - I don't think QCD will have a resizable playlist. This would present too many restrictions on the skinning of the playlist and I doubt you would ever achieve the type of stretching and contracting needed for iTunes. There is a very subtle vertical and horizontal colour and texture gradient on the iTunes main face that does not fit a general purpose stretchable skinnable system.

The real iTunes was designed to work this way but all real iTunes skins have to adopt the inflexible layout of iTunes - and most of them look awfull.

There is a graphite version in the works, just on the back burner at the moment. I am waiting for some graphite screenshots and graphic elements. So if you have any - send them over.

my roommate has a OLD OLD iMac with 10.2 Jaguar on it...let me know what you need screenies of and I"ll see if I can get him to send a few over to me :)

Also I coudln't figure out how to get DFX to run with QCD...has anyone done it before or could offer some help to me?! I would really appreciate it! :(

Hi,

I'm working on a Graphite port of SpiderCrabX's iTunes skin for QCD right now.

I will make it available later, after I get his permission.

Peace,

Grusic

P.S. It's not that hard really. I just went in and grayscaled everything that was *not* a control color.

SpiderCrabX,

If you are looking for examples of various iTunes skins, you may want to head over to http://www.deskmod.com in the screenshots section.

There are tons of Mac OS X screenshots there, many of them showing various iTunes skins.

Peace,

Grusic

Does anyone have a mirror to for Spidercrab's iTunes 3 skin, the link seems to be down. I was going to edit and host the modified QCD files for Build 36 and create and host a Shortpopup menu to control iTunes 3 for Windows (a.k.a. QCD) from the docks.

The link is working now. The latest version 3.4e and the new graphite version are up.

Grusic - Thanks for the link but I couldn't find any iTunes images over there. Where specifically did you mean?
