Is there a moby homepage yet?
Moby HomePage?
was once... not anymore.
there is, a new one, and will be posted with the dock.
In response to their being a site once, and there isn't anymore:
Here's the story:
I said I could host MobyDock's site, after talking with my boss (a web hoster). So we set up a site, and geave people the address of the preview URL (which neither me nor my boss knew was bad), which killed the server due to the mass of hits it recieved. We had to the take most of the server offline that day. Then my boss said that he didn't want to host MabyDock anymore (because of the trouble it had caused, even though it was our mistake).
That said, for the new website, I'd absolutely love to help you set up the forums, image gallery and bug tracker if you'd like me to. I'd also be able to skin them all so that they fit the site (you'd be surprised how skinnable these scripts are) ![]()
if you'd like to talk, feel free to PM me or email me at fnarfy@ibetas.net
I'm kind of disappointed. When you say to everybody that you are going to host a page and keep telling people soon, but then the support gets killed you have an obligation to tell everybody of the situation. It is a responsibility to the audience. I appreciate your effort and I know it was done with good intention and that things were not under your control but maybe somebody else can pickup the ball and keep at it. It just caused unwanted anxiety and fustration because most people do not know what is going on. Even a simple page at Geocity would have been enough to get people informed. Let's hope for the best and be more open to informing everybody. There were about 3 people that wanted to host Mobydock and that should have been enough to share the load through mirroring.
VideoMann, I'd still be happy to host it on my personal server, but the reason there was no news on the subject was mainly because none of the people working on the site could reach Moby since the site went down...
We'd have put up a site, but we were waiting for moby
Oh, I see. It got kind of messy. Thanks for your explanation.
I was one of the people helping with the web page.
Getting a domain was a difficult tast, and getting it up in time was another.
Sorry about any problems, it was just a tough time.
The Mobydock page is working... what url are you using Videomann?
The oficial one is:
Let me know if you still have problems.
Cheers
