[help] rip off or not?

I really like the basket icon in the Isometric pack

so I made a similar one myself, (haven't released it or anything), to use as a trash icon in my dock.

Would you guys call this a complete rip off or would I be allowed to release it? I've e-mailed iconbase but haven't gotten any answer...

its clearly an original piece of artwork, just because the perspective is the same, i wouldnt call it a rip.

i say go for it.

Honestly, even though you used their perspective for inspiration, those are original and great looking icons and there's no reason you shouldn't be able to release them

I don't know why you are so concerned, one couldn't possibly mistake one for another. Apart from the perspective and slighly similar shape, they are completely different.

Coying is one (bad) thing, taking inspiration from it is another. Go for it and release it, it's brilliant.
