Aqua-Soft ForumsI finnaly recieved my powerbook 17" today, the box was great and appopriately enclosed the most beautiful laptop I have ever seen. :woot: :woot: The laptop itself was just as great, and I was delighted. :woot: I updated it to 10.2.6, but I didn't have enough time to do everything because my mom got mad that I was using it instead of studying for my exams. I was forced to disconnect it from the internet until I get a router, and I'm not allowed to use it until the end of my exams. :rant: :rant: But since its only 1" thick, I can sneak it and grab a screenshot for you later today.

How do I make my Windows XP professional disk bootable?? Can Virtual PC run a boot disk made of my computer???

Turn on DHCP as your network connection. You may have to enter your username/password.
If you have a static IP, you can select that.
Except, if you are reffering to doing it in VPC, I dont know if you can just turn on DHCP, you may have to do something else.

and where do I go to do that.
The windows 98 file structure isn't the same as XP/2K. I can't figure out where I can change the settings..
Not to be condescending, but it is the same, just not as pretty.
Just go into your LAN settings either in Internet Explorer, or Network Connections in the Control Panel and turn on "Automatically Detect Network Settings"
Or you can go through the network settings wizard.
Make sure you choose to connect to the internet through your LAN, and not your modem. And once its set up, go into internet explorer and see if it detects your settings.
Make sure you have your DSL modems driver installed though, I doubt 98 would detect it, and your modem drivers should have a step-by-step guide, in case theres something odd.

The latest betas of Safari have tabs.
open the pdf file, then export it as jpg 
if you dont want to use VPC, you can always use Remote Desktop Connect by Microsoft.
It allows you to connect to your Windows computer. You can even choose if you want, say, songs to be played on the host machine or your computer's speakers.

Would that remote desktop app work on a network? I would sure prefer connecting to my network profile here at school rather than using VPC. Can you log onto a network or do you have to have a direct connection to another comp? Thanks in advance for the info, bud.

Just use your local IP. It would most likely be 192.168.0.x , where x would be 1,2,3,depending on what computer on the network.
If that doesnt work, you can use VNC, though you cant have that nifty sound thing.

Just use 192.168.x.x. And yes, its fast
So I actually use my PC and my mac at the same time!
edit: Yes you can connect to any computer on the network. I have three computers hooked up via router, and I can view the other two easily.
And for those of you who didn't know, there RDC for PC's too. 
taha, don't forget to mention that the RPC feature is on XP only... you can only connect to a windowsXP box...
