Aqua-Soft ForumsDoes anyone know how to make it so windows NEVER re-creates My Music and My Images.
I HATE those folders. I don't care if it took me hours of editing registry i just wanna know if it can be done and possibly how.

couldn't you just hide them and pretend they arne't there?
Thats funny - I have just recently trained myself to use those folders to my full advantage.
they are known as Special folders, much like the folders under the windows directory, they cannot be deleted. They can only be redirected to be put in a different location, which can be done through TweakUI...
Or you can "HIDE" the folder using TweakXP (assuming you're using XP). This is probally your only option, it will hide the folder in explorer, but it won't delete it.
I wouldnt recommend using the folders. While its nice (and obtrusive) that XP defaults to those folders, hackers and evil-doers take full advantage of this.
What are the first thing viruses delete: your antivirus, and your "My Documents" folder (which contains my picutres,music, videos as well). Ive had to learn this the hard way.
I found an application that lets me move them to another folder.
So I stuck them in C:/Windows/Temp where I will never have to see them again.
God I hate those folders.
I only use them as temporary download folders...which is kinda nice, because of their default settings make it easy to view pics on the fly or check out music.
All of my critical data (heh, themes and icons being called critical) is backed up and stored on a seperate drive, in case of infection of crash.

I'd like to join you for the rant on microsoft if you dont mind, but thats on another time.

I just hide them with tweakUI (which is a lowlever application so its kinda like deleting the folders)
and I treat my desktop where everything is temporaraly on. I got my "installs" folder where all backups get to stay zipped, but my desktop i learned, must stay clean.. its just useless imo to have anything else on there while there is a dock which already has everything on.
this is what i did.
run --> type: regsvr32 /u mydocs.dll
then it should say that it was unregistered. now delete the folders like my music, ebooks, etc.
it worked for me. :woot:
