is it possible to move file one folder up in Finder in icon view?

i like icon view but when i need to move something one folder up (in parent directory) i have to swith to column view or copy+return_to_folder+delete... Maybe I miss some handy shortcut?

I like to drag to the desktop. This performs a file move.

Navigate to the destination folder and drag from the desktop to perform another move.

Requires dragging twice, but you don't need to go back and delete.

If anyone has a siimpler solution, I'd like to hear it - save us all a little time.

Just had another idea:

Starting from the destination folder, open the source folder with [Apple+DblClick].

This will open the source folder in a new window - then you just do a normal drag-drop.
