Its insane if you can find a powermac g5 case that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

The most insane is this :

"I put all the parts from the G5 into a box and gave it to my friend. He was rather happy. I think he is going to try to install them into his G3 - I hope he's successful."

That page is extremely old (January 27, 2004). However, if you read the very top it says:

I got a free G5 shell from a buddy of mine and pulled a prank on a Mac loving friend. He got so upset. I wrote up a little story, my imagination and warped sense of humor kicked in. I sent it to OC.com just to see the reaction. I honestly didn't think it was going to be posted. I cannot believe how fast or how far it has spread on the internet. There are an amazing number of people who are emotionally attached to inanimate objects such as computers. Mac fans seem to be much worse that I ever expected. The G5 is amazing, I would never dream of really doing that

it's an old article. actually what happened is that this guy posted this to see people's reactions. he recieved thousands of angry letters from apple enthusiasts, threatining to hang him up with a poll at his balls, pour mot motor on him,and light him on fire.

i found this rather amusing. but even as a non-mac-user i can see how some people would be shocked to read something like that. actually the most interestng part for me was seeing the interior of the G5 (the before pic). i had never seen the interior of a mac before, and i can't get over how much cleaner and prettier it is than the interior of a windows pc (having opened up my own Dell case on occasion). Apple gets additional points in my book for interior component organization!

i dont know any apple zealots in real life, but if that were not the case, i'd enjoy pulling a similar prank on them. or at least tell them i traded my ipod for a creative.
