Some Help With Y'z Dock

i just changed over from objectdock to y'z dock (wanted to try it out, still miss the taskbar.. ), and i set it up really fast (amazingly easy to configure) but it's a little weird.

1) how can i improve the performance? it feels a little slower than objectdock, and the benchmark says the drawing rate is around 30.

2) why does it take up cpu resources even when it's idle?

3) around the dock items, it looks like there's a dark highlight which is especially noticeable when it's enlarged. why? i took a screenshot of this, but not sure where to upload it.

thanks everyone.

here's a shot of what i mean.

1. Drawing rate will depend on your graphics card and drivers, number of dock items, amount of magnification, etc...but 30 fps should look fairly smooth.

2. Mine only takes up 2% - 5% when idle...but even when idle I have the CPU and Clock docklets going, so they will take some overhead.

3. I've never seen that before, so I can't help there.

hey, thanks for the response.

1) i have a geforce4, latest drivers, and not too many items. i was just wondering how people got fps in the 100s.

2) i dont have any special docklets other than the menus, so i'm assuming that's why there's some cpu usage. is that right?

3) maybe this has to do with me setting my color depth on 16-bit and not 32. ahh well.

do you have any tips to improve performance even more? i've already tweaked the settings down to the minimum (e.g. transition effects, low quality, etc.).
