[help]DirectCD/INcd UDF Formats?

Im trying to do backups of files off my computer.

but i was wondering when i make UDF(1.5) formated discs i get about 576 usable space on the 700mb disc

seeing that it wont be able to hold a weeks worth of backups im trying to find a better way to do this...

is the MRW format better then just the standard UDF format?

ive been looking around but haven't really found info i was looking for...

since there isn't any good comparisons between the two formats...

any info would be great on these formats.

I believe MRW (Mount Rainier format) only gives you 540mb usable space.

Also, some older drives are not capable of reading MRW discs (same goes for UDF 1.5?).

On the plus side, MRW puts aside more space for defect management, which I assume will result in a slighlty more reliable disc.

Final note: MRW intended to work on CD-RW - no packet writing to CD-R discs.

im working with cd-rw's so that part isn't a problem but i saw some where that in mrw it makes the block size to 2kb does that matter when it comes to writing data on to cd's?
