Very interesting.

If you look closely, you'll notice that there are distinct divisions which divide the gradient into what looks like a bunch of small steps. Unless that is the effect you want, you probably want to figure out how to smooth over those divisions.

On those same lines (no pun intended =P), if you look closely at the area which makes up the top right of the illuminated area, not only can you see lines between the gradients, but the gradient doesn't change on a curve, it changes on a couple of relatively long, straight lines. This makes it look boxy, which is obviously not what you want.

Wish I could give specifics about how to fix them, but I can't afford Illustrator. =)

Otherwise, it's very nice. I think I would prefer a little more "stuff going on" for my own desktop, but not much. As an example, my wallpaper has been the default Mac OS X Tiger wall for a while now.
