no matter what size of wallpaper i use, i showes up distorted. the walls im using are jpg and my monitor is a 17 in crt at 1280x1020. just wondering if anyone knew why it was doing this.

That's right. The wall you are trying to use is too small. See if you can find a bigger size for your resolution or recreate it yourself. ![]()
or "show desktop icons" is unchecked. (right clik on desktop).

1st: make sure you are using a standard resolution, if your screen is not widescreen the display should have a ratio of 4:3, for example: 1024x768, 1280x960, 1600x1200. In your post you say you're using 1280x1020... now that's just plain weird.
2nd: make sure your wallpaper has the same width:height ratio as your display, otherwise the operating system has to resize the height and width differently. The wallpaper you are showing us in your post has a resolution of 1024x819, that just won't fly.
I'd recommend taking your monitor to 1280x960 and cropping the image to 1024x768, that would give you good results.
looks like the other posts were right, i just needed to resize the image. nothing to do with the resolution. thx for the help
