[Release] HDSI - Hard Drive Super Icon

HDSI___Hard_Drive_Super_Icon_by_laushung.png

HDSI - Hard Drive Super Icon (version 1.0)

--------------------------------------------------

In the same vein of AveDesk's suped-up desktop icons, this application will display storage information about your hard drive.

With features that include icon size, user selection of icon, drive to monitor and text color; this application will fit in with any theme imaginable. And with a low memory footprint, you'll hardly notice it's there. Run multiple instances and you'll never wonder just how much storage space is available!

I hope you enjoy this application and please leave your suggestions on improvements for future updates!

There isn't anything you need to set this application up. I'll have a look at it and see if I can't find what could be causing this to happen.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

EDIT: Just uploaded a quick fix to DeviantArt - it should solve the problem for the moment.

#324604

It'd be nice you you could edit shadow settings on the font, and the change font itself

#324640

Is this for DesktopX?

#324642

It's a widget, it runs independently.

But yeah, it uses DesktopX's engine.

#324650

Excellent! that did it!! :)

I double that report, i get System label without anything else.

right-click. select 'hide text'. it's off by default.

Actually, it's a stand alone program. It will run whether or not DesktopX is installed.

ktharms075: Great to hear it's working for you now.

Malek: Once I update DesktopX to 3.1 I'll be able to add those features in. At the moment I'm strapped for cash but hopefully it won't take too long. ;)

Rimmer: Have you updated to version 1.1? kTharms actually pointed that out to me yesterday and the new release should have fixed the problem (default drive is now C:).

i think this is a nice lil' app, thx. here's my bug report:

1) 'open' and 'explore' both just 'open.'

2) drive label text isn't centered correctly. (actually, it's centered correctly on one of my drives. not centered correctly on three of my drives). but the size info is centered correctly on all drives.

3) after i change drive via 'assign drive', just moving the mouse over the drive grabs it and moves it, even thought i haven't grabbed it by click-holding. just noticed that it does this when i change the size, also.

there. i think that's enuf!

Glad you like it Shmengie and thankyou for the bug reports.

1. Programming error - will change in the next update. EDIT: Fixed

2. Not sure what could be causing it not to center properly. The code is the same for both. Check to see if there are any extraneous spaces after the drive name (I've noticed that occurs occasionally).

3. It's a problem with the way it handles menu clicks. I'll look into it but the time begin just click anywhere on the screen after selecting from the menu.

Thanks again for the bug reports!

Nice start--I look forward to future releases from you.

I'm also getting the 3rd bug shmengie mentioned, and the Destop Level order isn't working completely. If you use the Winkey + D shortcut to minimize everything, this also gets hidden.

Good job, though!

Thankyou Nightcrawler for the comments! You can change the Desktop Level by going into the properties - Right-click the system tray icon and select Properties. There you can change it to Desktop. I will make it Desktop by default in the next update.

Still working on the 3rd bug but I think I have it figured out.

#325002

No, haha, I DID change it to desktop--that's what I'm saying. The "Desktop" doesn't work completely as it should, in that Winkey + D minimize shortcut should still have the HDSI app showing.
