[Help]HP officejet 7130xi

Hi, I've been having some troubles lately if you haven't noticed.

Right now, I can't find how to re-install my printer after my dad performed a System Recovery on my computer. I have already installed the software and everything, but when I try to scan a photo, it says "Sorry, scanner could not be initialized (scanner not found)" (even though the 7130xi is a fax and copy machine + printer and scanner.)

Please, PLEASE help me. I've looked everywhere I could and found no answers that relate to me.

I am assuming you've gone ahead and uninstalled the hardware via the control panel, and then used whatever discs it came with to reinstall it?

Yah, make sure it's completely uninstalled (use Device Manager: Run-->devmgmt.msc) before doing anything else.

make sure all your drivers and everything is up to date, and that device manager doesnt show any errors. also, did you make sure to reinstall the equipment the way the instructions say to? sometimes they want you to install software first, turn off comp, plug in stuff, then turn comp back on. other times it's done differently.
