I'm thinknig of purchasing an iMac. I understand that the standard comes with Airport extreme built inside, but they say you can get wireless connections via AIRPORT BASE STATION. i thought that i can use an iMac with ANY wireless router (Netgear 108x2 is mine).

The Airpot base station is their brand of wireless router.
The built-in Aiport Express card is the wireless adapter.
It is standard 802.11g and should connect to any brand of wireless router.
Right now my iBook is wirelessly connects to a Billion 743GE - no problems.
