[question] the best color picker

This is the first of a bunch of my questions about GUI elements. I was always intending to make a useful, pleasant, easy and convinient GUI in my apps. That's why I like Aqua and I am here at Aqua-Soft.

But Aqua GUI isn't the perfect GUI.(Fully IMHO. This thread is not the place to start flamy wars on why is it so).

I only wanna know now how do you people see the best color picker dialog. It should be easy enough to be used in text processor and graphic editor by both full ****ie who's first time at computer and a professional. It must be scalable but not overloaded. I'll soon provide an article on how do I see it, but here I wanna know what you think about the color picker.

I like Mac OS X's color picker, because it has many modes, but also Photoshop's color picker because it has easy access to a chart, HSL and RGB.

I love the one from photoshop, it's very handy and it displays a huge amount of colours, you can easily choose every colour defined by the different colour-systems.

Don't like the one from OS X.

well i think that the one from Photoshop is excellent for a graphics programs, but i think might be too complicated for a word processor. actually, the one in Photoshop uses several different color profiles that you are allowed to choose from, and i think that might be hard to duplicate. something similar to the Microsoft Word dialogue might be nice though. it has a nice range of preset colors, as well as graph type thing (see this example).

one important feature i think would be helpful would be to have a hex color input AND a RGB input (white = 255 255 255 RGB and FFFFFF hex), so all us HTML freaks can be happy.

Colour Selector works very well for me--the only problem is not being able to zoom in on various elements, so I just use ColorPic4.

You could combine the simplicity of Colour Selector with the power of ColorPic4--that would work well!

Adobe, by far, is my favorite color picker. I know the values for hues (0-360), saturation (0-100), and brigtness (0-100). I choose my colors thusly, HSB. I love the fact that you can choose different ways to identify that one color, the radio dots on the sides of them work VERY well. I can choose the color by HSB, and at the bottom I can see the HEX code as well, VERY useful. I like all how its conversion as well. Just the fact that I can find a color in a RGB format, HSB, or CMYK, even HEX, and I can see the values for ANY of the others. I love it. My opinion, best color picker... Adobe's.
