These wallpapers came about as a result of wanting to see just how much the dimensions changed on the click-wheel and screen of the new (5G) iPod from the previous versions.
The actual length and width of the iPod itself have not changed at all, even though it seems that way due to a sort of optical illusion.
I threw in a wallpaper with a nano at actual size as well!

Yes - I've got one in the works, but it will only feature the 5G iPod and iPod nano, because the 4G iPod doesn't really fit in well with the other two and it is exactly the same size as the 5G.
I updated the first post with one more wallpaper, so now you can see the iPod nano and the new iPod side by side, both at actual size!

I can't remember what size, but it sure is Myriad Pro - Apple's official font!

Apple uses Myriad Pro Semibold except it didn't use semibold for the "nano" in iPod nano.
The width and height didn't change, you mentioned this , the click wheel just was shrunk and screen enlarged. Sooooo many people say eww it's so disgustingly wide--but it isn't. Anyways, the actual size may differ since some 12" screens may be 1024 or even 1600
@Patrick: Apple uses many kinds of Myriad Pro. They use Light, Regular and Semibold, not only Semibold.
