iCalc

I made a new version of my osX style calculator.

You can get it HERE

The new version includes a brushed metal skin.

I will be adding numeric keyboard support soon.

Please post any questions, comments, or requests for the next version.

Please remeber that this is my first program ever.

hmmm.

The iCalc seems to be great and the buttons are bigger and wider than the Button in Aqua-Soft. This one is nice beric. And my name is Jeric. Quite confusing eh? LOL.

This is my plan around August but my PC is crashing 15-30 times.

So I stopped it.

FOUND BUG:

I am using the keypad functionality and when i try and when I press enter, iCalc found an illegal operation on msvbm60.dll? And also trying the multiplication button in the numeric keypad. Ohhh. But it's working. Seems this is a minor bug or my computer is some kind of kick-ass.

There is a new version now. Not much added but i fixed the 2 bugs jed717ph pointed out.

I don't have much time to test iCalc so if you find any bugs even if they are very small please point them out.

#302

I can confirm the keypad Enter bug. Mine crashes with the following error message whenever I hit enter on the keypad to finish a calculation:

AppName: icalc.exe AppVer: 1.1.0.52 ModName: kernel32.dll

ModVer: 5.1.2600.0 Offset: 0000d756

Also, the "screen" on the calculatr seems to flicker when numbers are entered.

Looks great other than that!

#303

ricky, the new version 1.1.54 has fixed those bugs you pointed out exept for the flickering screen one. I will check rhat on out very soon.

Thank you everyone for the bug reporting!

#304

ah ok cool. good, fast work :)

#336

version 1.1.75 is out. It has many improvments and bug fixes.

I also made a temperary download page for it with some information about my next projects.

i modified the link in my fist post so it goes to that page. and i'll post it agian though.

HERE IS THE TEMP PAGE

Please give me more suggestions and opinions on it.

G-R-E-A-T job!

liked the pop up menu:)

thumbs are up big time!

one thing - when i press "1" it always comes with "11" in the display and behaves as if i clicked it twice..if i HOLD "1" for a sec or two, then it brings the real figure "1".

THANK YOU !!

I'm getting a 500 Internal Server Error when trying to go to your page.

#513

i uploaded a new version, the only thing that is changed from the last version is the bug with the "1" button that Goku reported.(thanks Goku)

I am almost done with iCalc and i am moving on to other projects listed on my temp page.

!f you had trouble going to the site try agian because i think i have solved the problem some people where running into.

And once again I will say that I do greatly appreciate suggestions and comments.

bsiple: you may need to download the visual basic 6 SP5 runtime.

Here is a link to it.

or you may need the most recent aqua controls which you can get from the download section of this site.

Taha: my itunes project is the one i am working on the most right now. but since i have school and practice, i don't get alot of time to program.

I will try to put up a screen shot at my website soon of what i have done.

great job eliminating the flicker problem... one last thing and it'll be perfect. could you make it so that the ESC button on the keyboard resets it (as in, hits the C button), like the windows calculator? i use that all the time :) thanks

I added that for you, it's in the new vesion i just uploaded.

It is the only thing that is changed from the last version.

#589

awesome. thanks. it now officially replaces my windows calculator :)

two more suggestions (if i may)...

1. have it remember the last place it was located on the screen instead of always starting in the same place.... i like my calculator to appear right in the middle of the screen instead of off to the upper-left.

2. have it remember which skin i choose :) i like the brushed metal one better... but i have to tell it to use that every time.

thanks!

I'm getting the server error too...can't get to the page :(

#654

I've added a mirror to the download site. People that had trouble getting to the old site should try the mirror.

The next version will be out soon. It will have the things that Ricky asked for.

#785

and that mirror site is???? :D

#786

I edited my first post on the form so it had the mirror site link but i'll post it again.

I can't seem to get iCalc to work...

It keeps throwing out the

"Class not registered. You need the following file to be installed on your machine. MSSTDFMT.DLL."

I already installed latest Aqua Controls (from Downloads tab above) and Microsoft's VB6 runtimes as suggested in one of the previous posts. Neither did any help. Oh. And I'm running XP with SP1.

Any clues?

Try downloading THIS ZIP FILE

unzipping it and putting it in your WINDOWS/SYTEM32 directory.

I hope it works for you.

#824

Nope. I did that already

Maybe it's SP1 that's the problem
