[Help] Flyakite Updater & Icons

Hi everyone, im sorry to start a new thread, don't think this has been discussed yet in terms of what i experienced, but i just updated my system through Windows Update, after restarting the PC all the shell32.dll files are changed to Windows default Xp ones. I tried flyakite's updater that usually replaces them, but this has seemed to not do anything.

Has Microsoft done something to the shell32.dll file or is it just my PC??

If someone can confirm this or with a possible solution to this problem.

Hey i just updated tonite with the october updates, and yes all the icons reverted back and shell32 stuff, but however i did the flykite updater and...yes its sorted them out. Bizzare i know compared to you guys. I ran windows update again just make sure, and windows update site says that my machine is upto date. Guess im the worm that got away.

yeh i was thinking there wasn't gonna be much solution, but hey i don't mind waiting for Flyakite 3 , a point that may need to be forwarded to Flyakite if he's unaware of this.

I just ran the updater and my icons got restored... you guys seem to just have bad luck

Uhm.... Same here... Tried to restore the icons with TweakUI, maybe they have been cached, but it didn't work. :-(

Have you tried actually clearing the icon cache?

It worked absolutely like charm, not more than 10 hours ago I did Windows Update and I noticed Shell32.dll dumbass icons. I ran Flykite Updater and everything is fine just the way it should be.

O.k, i managed to get the icons back , the solution was to reinstall only the shell32.dll from flyakite's OSX installation file. So anyone else in this thread who has the probs try that solution.

However, i was wondering why on earth the "Flyakite Updater" failed me this time round, as ever since the start of the year, i have not had one problem with getting the icons back so to say.
