[request] Wallpaper fade in after login

Windows power toys has a wallpaper changer that I believe has different effects and you can change the time interval. Don't know about the fader thing though.

could the answer be: The moment a user clicks the "login" button on the User Login Screen, the app would then fade the login Screen's image into the desktop wallpaper?

I do not know if it would be possible to, on the fly and in an automated fashion, take a printscreen of the Login screen right after the animation (after clicking the 'go' button) if not, I would be perfectly happy to manually take a print screen of the Login screen and give it to the program in a config-setup like utility if it would require less coding or was too difficult to implement otherwise.

For instance, if you program had a config. app which asks the user to:

Set the Fade-out image (this would be your login screen)
Set the Fade-in image (this would be your wallpaper)
Fade duration etc. (could it fade in the desktop elements as well? Like if the program took a screenshot (right before &) everytime a user logs off or shuts down the computer, then you'd be assured that the screenshot of the desktop matched the actual content when the fade completes... if the app was threaded, it could act as a 'splash screen' while the desktop spent the time it requires to fully load and become functionally usable. As long as there was some sort of visual cue that the desktop is loading and not yet accessible, until such time that the desktop has completely loaded, even an hourglass cursor would do.

As an event timeline:

1) User types password and hits enter (or Go button) on logon screen.

Screenshot(1) is taken of Logon Screen right after logon animation (you know, when the logon name 'falls')

2) The desktop is loading (behind the scenes) and is covered by the images crossfading.

Screenshot(1) fades into the Screenshot(2) of the desktop (with all it's icons etc., which was taken during the previous shutdown, logout) but this Screenshot is slightly darkened, think expose-like dimmed desktop. This signifies desktop is loading underneath and is currently inaccessible.

3) desktop has nearly/finished loading.

Once desktop has fully loaded, Screenshot(2) fades into Screenshot(3) which is exactly the same as (2) but is the un-darkened desktop. So really, the fade just gives the effect of the desktop brightening into being usable. And once fully faded into (3), then remove the Screenshot and User now has control of the desktop.

This is what I envisioned when this thread was created. Please let me know if I'm on the wrong track.

Seems pretty valid & well explained, maybe the only problem would be getting it to load so quickly after the login button is pressed.

It'd be nice to see it however its implemented though.
