Sendto equivalent in OS X?

Well in XP I've setup the rightclick menu Sendto to be able to send files to notepad..

Is there an equal way to do this in OS X? I think it's handy for files that are not associated with any program.

you can use automater to set up an action, then save it as a workflow for finder and it will appear in the right click menu.

Just right click on the file you wish to send to text edit.. click create automator action then new textedit document.
