Icon X Registration code

Hi,

I'm sure that this probably breaks some sort of policy, but I'm looking for a registration code for the program Icon X. I far prefer it to iconpackager or to sushi xp, and whilst I've tried alternatives, none seem to allow you the total control that icon x does, whilst at the same time leaving practically no other problems at all.

I have seen a thread here, quite a long time ago, asking for the same thing, and the person making the request was told to wait patiently for an answer via e-mail. I have emailed 3 times, as many as I can without seeming pushy or rude, and the first of these was sent in April this year. I included every detail that anyone could possibly wish for. There has been no response.

I hoped that some kind soul out there might take pity on me and pm the relevant code, especially as this program is actually freeware, and it really does appear as though the programmer doesn't have huge amounts of interest in this anymore. I know that some people have ultimately received the code, but it all seems a bit arbitrary, and I'm sure that nobody would be breaking to many moral boundaries by mailing it to me.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

asking for any form of making a pay-for software to paid software is against the rules..

you sure he's told to wait for e-mail confirmation? i don't think its possible for asking regcodes are prohibited.

I assume you mean Stardock's IconX prgram?

I'm sure that this probably breaks some sort of policy...
Yes. Yes it does.

I have emailed 3 times, as many as I can without seeming pushy or rude...
Who are you emailing - it's possible there is another address you could direct your email to.

...especially as this program is actually freeware...
Says who? Stardock still sells IconX.

I'm sorry, I evidently left some abiguities in my opening post. I'm well aware it is against the forum's policy to ask for warez and codes, and I fully respect that.

I would never request a code for payware, and have no pirated or stolen software on my computer. All the software that I use is correctly licensed.

I am seeking a registration code for this program: icon-x

not for stardock's program of the same name. The reason I am asking here is because, whilst the program is free, the programmer requires each user to mail him for a registration code. However, the program is itself very old now, and it seems that the developer will no longer answer.

My first request was sent early this year, and a further two have yielded nothing. I know that developer's wishes should be respected and I have tried to do that, but to know avail. I wondered if anyone in possession of the code would be so kind as to share it with me, as I really like to program.

I not seeking to publish the code on the web, and relatively few people use the soft now, so I doubt it will lead to deluge of similar requests.

Thanks again, and sorry for any misunderstanding.

yeah, the guy johannes usually takes 2-3 MONTHS to get those codes out. i got one and that's how long it took. i then reformatted and lost my code. it took another few months to get re-coded. just be patient. it works pretty well, i think the wait it worth it. (and yes, the second time it took repeated e-mails to get a reply. i don't wanna bag on a guy who's giving away free software, but c'mon, johannes!! help us out a little, here!)

I have never yet had a code and at the end of this month, it will be 7 months wait, after 3 e-mails. I think that this situation means it's not inappropriate to request such a code in thses forums. I mean after 7 month's wait, is there really much chance?

Also, I'm not really looking to circumvent a programmer's wishes. I understand that people develop software for all our benefits, that they put a lot of time into it, and that their wishes should be respected, but in this case I've followed his instructions, and I can see no reason why anyone would be refused a code, so I'd really appreciate just a little bit of help.

Thanks again.

are you even aware what you're writing? on top of that, it's been stated, it's not freeware. either you find means to get it yourself, otherwise asking is profibited.

Maybe you didn't read his second post or click the link. It's not Stardock iconX he's after. It's another prog so throttle back turbo. :)
