[release] Multi-Plugin 2.1

I can't get iTunes to not show on taskbar. When I click on the minimize button it just disappears from top of the desktop but there is still the iTunes caption on the taskbar...

Check the advanced tab in iTunes preferences. Make sure the last two options are checked.

Is there a way to remove the "feature" that turns the maxi/windowed button into the mini skin toggle? Absolutely hate it.. I never use the mini skin and I do use the fullscreen/window toggle alot. Also is there a way to arrange it propperly? Mini/maxi/quit? instead of maxi/mini/quit? I dont see the point in swifting around the buttons.. just confuses people and makes em press the wrong one.

I don't know of any way to switch around the order of the buttons, but there are a couple solutions to your maximize/restore request.

1) If you double click on a playlist (or most of the other options on the left of the screen), a new window opens up that only contains the selected playlist. The green button on that window acts like the maximize/restore button--not the miniplayer toggle.

2) Double click the titlebar. It's probably easier that searching for the right button anyway. And it works in any windows program, not just iTunes.

Hi,

is there any place where you still could get Multi-Plugin v0.68 ?

Thanx in advance,

Seppel

I have the installer for .67 AND I'm currently running .68 Is all that's needed the Mplugin.dll file in C:Program FilesiTunes ?

If localhost, or someone else knows the answer to that, I'd be happy to send that to you as soon as possible ;).

Hello nightcrawler,

Many Thanx for your offer!

I think by using the 0.67-installer I could see, what other files Multi-Plugin needs - and maybe it's then enough to copy 0.68-dll over the old one!?

So I really would appreciate if you could send these two oldies ;)

again Big Thanx,

Seppel

@localhost

i´d like to ask one thing about skinning: as long i know a horizontal gradient fill (meaning from left to right) of mainbackground is not possible right now. do u see any ways to give this option?

#322061

iTunes 6.0 breaks it :(

iTunes 6.0 breaks it :(

I think it's safe to assume that most of us guessed it would.

#322423

Just as I suspected. I'll hold off with installing Itunes 6.0 just yet.

#322485

Again they changed the versioning scheme...what do they want from me?

I'll update it tomorrow probably.

#322486

Thanks localhost :)

Don't take care of Apple - they don't respect your plugin as much as we do. ;)

#322489

i dont think apple cares enough about a plugin thats limited to a small community to consider "respecting" it.

#322501

Hmmm... small is maybe the wrong word :P - but you're right ;)

#322510

localhost you rule man....this community has the upmost respect for your work don't forget that

#322512

Localhost could you make the button order and mini/maxi button functionality toggel:able? I love the rest but that just kills me.

#322546

The new iTunes 6 update broke the installer :(

It says it can't detect my iTunes version :S

Multi-Plugin.2.1.Thumb.png

Download here, or just use the web update.

Changes:

  • Skins are switched on the fly.
  • Resources are dumped on the fly, and the resource dumping is more stable.
  • The mini player glitch has been fixed.
  • Documentation updated for iTunes 5.
  • Available through web update.
  • Font colors may be changed by editing SkinData.ini in the skin's folder. To see which font corresponds to which font number, turn on the developer mode in that file.
  • A skin can set the inactive state of the menu button.
  • The option to change the functionality of Music Store links has been removed. It causes some problems with iTunes 5.
  • Finally, a fix for the progress bar glitch of the LCD.

i know this is probably a little much to ask... but is there a version or a quick mod that can be turned into a version in light of the almost silent release of iTunes 6.0?! i had heard earlier today that Apple--with no forewarning--has released iPods with video display capabilities... which is a real pisser (what else is new) since i just replaced another iPod like 2 weeks ago (just enough time for an exchange to be a non-option)... so it's no surprise to me that when i rebooted moments ago and reloaded iTunes there was a box notifying me that 6.0 is now available... something i'm still perplexed at since 5.0.1 just came out, also because there is no useful difference in 6.0 other than the video feature (which i think was already a part)... certainly nothing warranting a fully new version... maybe 5.0.2 would've been a better idea... what the hell is Apple's staff thinking? obviously not much of anything when GUI isn't on the table. anyway hopefully you can keep up with the childlike absence of attention span Apple so frequently displays... and the careless disregard for their unfortunate and broken customers...

thanks tons,

PS... y'know at this point i really am ready to stick to the original Tiger styles and just say **** APPLE forever and never update anything unless it's through here, osx-e or some other apple-esque, yet non-apple site... what kind of insane toddlers are really running this company anyway?! i hate to say it since i like their products so much (they are the top of the digital chain), but they have to be the most semi-fascist and uber-imperialist company i've ever seen and that's including such major players (modern english for 'monopolies') as McDonald's and Starbucks... at least their ridiculous service and style changes aren't the kind that impede things should you be unable to keep up with them... someone should really talk to them about showing a little respect for the people who have to suffer under their thumbs (or stems) just to try to keep up with what's going on... God forbid you should have to upgrade anything... all of a sudden it costs more, and comes with less... well less of everything but headaches. oy!

#322581

first off, localhost just said 6 hours ago that he will probably update his plugin tomorrow. give the man a break with your pestering and badgering.

secondly, apple released the new itunes and ipods yesterday.

third, an update version of one whole integer does seem like a bit much. i agree with you there. but theres no way anyone would agree with adding video to the itunes store, would only constitute a x.x.1 upgrade number.. maybe 5.2 or 5.5 at best.

fourth.. it's your fault for purchasing a new ipod 2 weeks ago, when it has been well known for well over a month that apple would be making big announcements this week with rumors circulating around the ipod. any good apple buyer knows when the right time to purchase an apple product is..theres even many apple enthusiast sites that make pretty right on predictions on when to purchase a certain product..

so.. dont boo on apple.. boo on you.

and take a chill pill or smoke something.. you need to calm down.

EDIT : OMG! he just double posted again as i was responding to his first post.. UNBE.. NIX this guy.

and "costs more comes with less" ... what ??? the new 30gb ipod is $299. compare that to when 15GB ipods without color were selling for $299 around last year? where do you come up with this stuff? you amuse me.

#322583

He's referring to the lack of accesories that come with the ipod these days.

As for the version increase, i still haven't figured out why they ever released itunes 5 when they did. Apple had to have known at that time that this was coming soon... why didnt they just hold off and label this 5?

To localhost: thanks for your efforts with the last version of the plugin to get it working better with my system, even though that effort proved fruitless, i still love and use the plugin. Just wanted to make sure you know that, and that most of us here do appreciate your work and don't take it for granted. Don't let snobs barking that they want a new version pressure you, and just release it when you're ready.

#322588

wait.. theres a lack of accessories for the ipod? oh i get it.. that was sarcasm!

#322590

crumbeast: in my opinion, apple did it just to get the version number higher. higher version numbers carry a subtle message of stability and quality.

#322607

The cynic in me would say that Apple will continue to increase their version numbers briskly until they reach ~10 to match WMP. This will be important for he release of Vista when they will be able to show they have iTunes11 to go up against Wmp11. Either that or they simply consider the addition of Media purchase sufficient to warrant a whole number increase. Personally 5.5 would have been perfectly fine.

#322611

itunes 11 by the time vista rolls out next year? highly unlikely

chill kids!

@ chicoloco - read the rules.

Do not double post! Use the edit function.

Apple is a company and as shockme said, it's your fault for not doing any research. Now let's get this thread back on topic and stop bugging localhiost.

Instead of whining you should consider donating for his efforts.
