switchproxy is an extension for deer park alpha 2 (firefox) and says it works, but I get this complicated error saying exception and all this stuff. Has anyone else tried to get this to work?

To make it work you need both Tor and Privoxy installed and configured correctly. Below is the guide I used from the EFF. Using that guide I got it up and running in about 10 minutes. Instructions are included for both Windows and OSX.

@SilverSuicide - u can find a hack in www.mozillazine.org forums

as fas as i remember, it can be made to work in deer park by inserting "-" in the extension file (i don't remember where)

But it doesn't not work smoothly (for me).

Just wondering if you got this working?

I found out that in Deerp Park Beta 2 you can interface directly with TOR without the need for Privoxy.

I have then used the Proxybutton extension http://proxybutton.mozdev.org/ to control the switching on of the proxy. It allows you to start the TOR client everytime the button is pressed. This extension only manages one proxy, but while I'm waitng for switchproxy to work with Deer Park it is good enough.

I cant really figure out how to make proxybutton close the TOR client when I disable the proxy- I think I will have to use some sort of CL argument but I'm hopeless at that and the documentation is confusing.
