[help] Gadu-Gadu in iChat

Hey everyone,

I really want to use iChat instead of Adium, mainly because of the bugs in the

adium gadu-gadu support, but also because iChat is just so sleek However

I need to figure out a way to use the gadu-gadu protocol in iChat. I heard this

can be done through a jabber server, so after searching for a few hours, I finally

found a Polish jabber server that had a gadu-gadu transport, however one has

to manually right click the transport and click log on, but in iChat you cant see

the jabber transports.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might go about

getting this working ?

ok I did everything like it said in your links, and it seems to have worked but now it shows

all my contacts as offline, even though I know some of them are online. I can talk to the offline

contacts though ^^

What server are you using? I'm on chrome.pl and it works very good. It takes some time to log in to GG though, but I see contacts online etc.

I finally got it to work, but if I use Adium, then log out, and start iChat, it never logs into the

gg transport. Im using the gg.jabber.autocom.pl server ^^

my gg # is 9223895, add me if u like

btw, I also need to use msn on iChat at the same time, and I have that working perfectly on a

different jabber server, but for some reason iChat cant log into more than one jabber acc at

one time

usually everyone uses PSI the worst jabber client EVAR and that's how everyone used for msn yahoo etc.

There I finally got that out of my system

I got both gadu and msn working at the same time, but I when I

start ichat it still doesnt connect the transports, I have to start PSI

at the same time as iChat, and in PSI I click log on on each of the

transcripts, and my contacts show up in iChat as well as PSI at the

same time. When I close PSI iChat is disconnected to

I hate the fact that you need to have another Jabber client open to connect and stay connected...and even more the 2 contact lists thing. :cry:

@Ellada: not true. I have only iChat running, Gadu-Gadu and MSN transports are working perfectly.

@Hobbes: cos musiales panie kierowniku spieprzyc Try to switch to chrome.pl, this server has never failed on me. And you can use multiple protocols with one transport, re-read the articles I linked you to.

(btw I added your GG to my list so we could discuss it sometime).

Oh man, I found an app on versiontracker that was supposed to change the iChat look

from brushed to aqua, and it totally screwed it up I uninstalled it but it still doesnt work.

I even reinstalled iChat from the iChat.pkg on the tiger dvd, but it keeps showing errors like

"ichat internal error blablaba". Does anyone know how I can fix this ?

Hey I've been using chrome.pl for a long time now but recently they stopped supporting MSN, so I need to find a different server. Does anyone know of a good one that has MSN and Gadu transports? It would also be nice if file transfers worked but its not a must ...

Sorry man but it looks like a server like this doesn't exist I was searching all over the web and came up with nothing. But you keep looking and let me know if you find anything. It's stupid to switch between Adium and iChat to be able to use all protocols :$
