@Benji: You can get yourself a WordPress blog from these sites:

Try out Blogsome. I believe they have an option to create a blog for testing. So you can sign up and play around, then easily delete the blog when you're done.

Note: afaik, all the free wordpress hosts will not let you upload a custom theme directly. They give you a few to choose from and let you edit them, so it's possible to hack a custom theme into an old layout. The theme format they use is different to standard WordPress themes.

The most flexible option by far is to find a free/paid webhost that has PHP and MySQL, then upload wordpress and set it up yourself.
