remove Thumbs.db and .DS_STORE...

Hello everybody,

Can we make a rule.

When you upload something to AS, please remove the ".DS_STORE or Thumbs.db before you do it.

In windows you can turn it of: Do not cache thumbnails.

Perhaps it is the same in Mac OS X have't check that yet.

On mac you can show hidden files - those files should then be visible.

I believe the key combo to access these prefs is [ Apple + J ]

There is also sometimes a hidden MACOSX folder if a whole folder is compressed at once on a mac.

WinZip can choke on this folder, causing extraction to be terminated early.

I don't think you can do much about .DS_Store, but Thumbs.db is kinda annoying.

There are fixes for both of them, though, you know.

And just do searches for Thumbs.db and delete them.

This will not be a rule, just would be nice if people did that.

Just as a note, WinRAR has no trouble with any archives made by OSX.

I've actually been saved by the MACOSX folder; I packaged an InDesign file, and two of the four fonts it used were hidden in there, with null files put in the regular directory.
