I think it has really huge advantages, and inmense potential.
This thread has a bit of information on how you can further exploit the capabilities of this amazing Dock, specifically, on how to make 'special' notification icons 'linkable' (in my case the 'Safely Remove Hardware' one) to the dock.
It is going to get a bit lengthy here, but may be useful for many of you out there

When I started playing with version 0.4beta, I realized that you can hide the taskbar.
Very cool. :cool: But...! I found that I wanted the taskbar there, since It allows for you to switch rapidly between apps, but also liked the fact that there are really good docklets that can replace that crappo default taskbar clock, and really nice calendars and weather docklets to go along with them.
So, in other words, I wanted the notification area gone.
Now, I knew this can be done with TweakUI , so I did it. The problem was that whenever I wanted to unplug my USB drive I would either...
1- Have to activate back the icons for the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon to re-appear
2- Had to keep the icons active and select ONE BY ONE in the taskbar customization options to 'always hide' them or,
3- Right-Click on the drive itself and select the 'eject' option, which I always forget is there, and usually when I remember, I have already closed the explorer window, so I have to reopen it again.
Now, all this mambo jambo, is simply so you can put that icon (and many others) in the dock, so if you just want the taskbar for open applications, here is how:
1- Since there is no Control Panel Extension (.CPL) for it, it cannot be opened like the Date and Time applet with CONTROL.EXE :slant:
2- I figured out it was a Dynamic Library (.DLL), so I knew that RUNDLL32.EXE would do the trick
3- And here i found myself trying: C:>rundll32.dll hotplug.dll to no avail, simply because I didn't know hotplug's internal functions, but...!
4- After digging and digging from site to site, i found out a bit more of how RUNDLL.EXE works.
so here it is, the clean statement when you make the link:
Name: Safely Remove Hardware
Link: %windir%system32rundll32.exe
Arguments: shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll
Icon: it better be a cool one and not the piece of crap one that comes within hotplug.dll !!!
