[Release] Konfabulator Widgets Again

Hi fellows. Can you spot the real OSX with these two screen shots?

Okay, I've created these DesktopX and Rainlendar objects some time ago but only decided to release it now because I've finally got a good internet connection.

The 3 DesktopX clocks are fully working and they are close to the exact replicas of the original widgets. The Digital clock was based on Duckies original version but now it finally has working Days of the week and AM/PM in the same way that the original Konfabulator app does it.

The Calendar is similar to the one previously released by Duckie except that it uses real font images for a clean look.

I like to thank Duckie because it was through his contribution that gave me the inspiration to make it better.

I also like to thank Arlo Rose and Bob Borries for creating the original widgets.

can' load DesktopX clock... version conflict or something. I use DesktopX 1.3

Thank you GB. Cool stuff. I have some questions though. 1. When I load the Rainlendar skin it tells me it cant find the "days.png". I even edit the config myself and it tells me this. Weird. 2. The Tube Clock and digital LCD clock are they samurize? I think the LCD one is. Where can I find them? I searched and nothing. Thanx.

Rainlendar should be installed in your C:/Program Files/Rainlendar folder. I checked my files and the objects are complete

All the clocks are for DesktopX 1.3 or higher. When you run DesktopX, make sure to use a blank theme first before loading the clock widgets to prevent any conflicts.

The LCD is not by Duckie. It is by me but I based it on Duckie's version.

The LCD, Analog and Tube clocks are all included in the file.

The tube clock flickers just like the real thing.

i did load blank theme before loading your theme, but it said your theme was built with newser version than mine, I choose load anyway and it crashed.

I tried DesktopX 1.95a and your theme loaded, but the analog clock messed up, just a black square on top of clock background

Okay, my mistake. I never tried it in version 1.30.

I was using version 1.95. I just downloaded the latest beta 1.95a and it seems to be buggy. There is a black square that appears on the analog clock and if I try to remove objects, it hangs. :blink:

I forgot that many people don't have the Object Desktop so they wouldn't be able to try it. I'm very sorry about that. I will try to convert my objects back to 1.30 so that the majority of members may be able to use this.

Okay, silly question. Is there a way that this can be converted to work with samurize in any way? I would love to use the tubular clock, that is to cool.

Contra: Duckie's version didn't have a working AM/PM and Days of the week. So even if it was Friday or Sunday morning , the day still showed Tue, PM.

Jolhof: Sorry, it's not possible to do that with Samurize at the moment because it relies on a script that creates a flickering effect of the tubes. Samurize does not allow instantaneously continuous updating of images.

Everyone:

I converted the objects so the clocks are now compatible with version 1.30 and beyond of DesktopX. I updated the file so just re-download from the link on the first thread.

I'm having the same problem with the Rainlendar skin that MetalMusicAddict is having.

Every time I select the skin, an error box appears stating that Days.png could not be found.

Also, why should I have to install in C:\Program Files\Rainlendar?

It really shouldn't make any difference where it's located as long as I state the location in the ini file.

I don't understand why it shouldn't work for you. I placed Rainlendar in a different drive and folder and I have no problem with it.

Don't modify the ini file!!!

Just extract the Konfabulator Calendar into the Rainlendar skins folder. (eg. D:\Rainlendar\Skins\)

Run Rainlendar and right-click on the calendar.

Select Konfabulator Calendar under the Skins choices.

It should show without any errors.

Ok, I did what you suggested. However this is what I get

I get an error too, after extracting the skin to the Rainlendar\Skins folder. Whenever I opened the program after extracting it told me "Rainlendar has encountered an error and needs to close...." :blink: It tells me if I want to send the error to Microsoft or not, I chose Don't Send.

My own weather script. It's a hacked version of the one created by Cicada. I used all the images from the real Konfabulator Weather resource and the font is Tahoma.

The weather update is manual. I have to double-click on the country name to refresh Samurize.
