Having been on a Mac for the last year and a half, I am a total **** at all this windows customization. I did have WindowsBlinds set up running a Vista skin, but switched to StyleXP to use this awesome theme. However as these two pictures show I am having real problems with this theme not applying properly:
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong and advise me on how to put it right?
Problem1:What is the problem?
1: i believe you are referring here to the horizontal "Common Tasks" bar at the top of the explorer window (since i can't see anything else you would be confused about). that VS is designed that way. but there are several sub-styles to choose from in that particular VS. a couple of them have the normal vertical style "Common Tasks" bar that you are used to. go through them and pick one that you feel comfortable using.
2. here i know you are referring to the partial text showing in the compact start menu's places bar. this is a bug with the VS. the author (stefanka) has not addressed this issue, and has not released a fixed version, so you'll either have to 1) hack the VS, 2) use the full start menu instead of the compact, or 3) ignore it.

btw, instead of using styleXP, i recommend using the uxtheme.dll patch available here . it's harmless, efective, and safe.

Question: What is the (winamp?) skin you're using there? mostly translucent. nice. please advise
increasing your icon size will also resolve your start menu issues, if you're not keen on altering the msstyle.
