I need urgent help please!
I needed to create a root account to install a QT componet, but when I finish installing it, I deleted and restart, and now my computer doesn't starts!
it just stays in "starting up mac os x" with the progress bar above. I guess it has something to do with the deleted root user. I have the tiger dvd just waiting to be used, but I wan't to try everything before doing that.
what should I do?
any help/comments/ideas/suggestions will be really appreciated
Could you reinstall by "Upgrade" and keep your old system?
It'll fry all of your Adobe stuff (reinstall necessary) but you'll keep the other apps and docs.

I guess I'll have to do it....I'm a little concern about a few apps not working, I have a lot of problems with cinema4d and adobe apps.......I'll give it a few more minutes to see if somebody comes up with another idea.

The only thing I can suggest, it to boot the Tiger DVD and repair permissions first.
If that doesn't work, reinstalling Tiger might be your only option.
Boot into OSX by holding down Command+V and watch the text and take note of where it hangs. Write back here with the info and I'll try and assist you further. It sounds like netinfo is screwed, so hopefully we can do a single user hack to get you back.
