iPod Nano Question

I wasn't sure what forum to put this in so if a mod wants to move the thread, thanks.

Anyways the tech specs on the iPod Nano for connectivity says : "USB through Dock connector" and I was reading that the iPod Nano comes with a thing that converts regular docks into Nano docks, But I really don't want to pay extra money for a dock just so I can actually USE the Nano.

If anyone knows if this is the only way to connect it, or if there are ways to get around it or such, thanks.

Or does the USB cable it comes with plug into the dock part on the underside of the Nano?

apple hardware forums

already a ipod nano thread

if you even know a clue about the nano it has a dock connector. THERE IS ONLY ONE KIND OF DOCK CONNECTOR. the reason the adapter is included is because the nano's dock connector port is to the side since there's a headphone port so the insert makes it fit. BUT NOT INTO CURRENT DOCKS. it's just a new standard apple is setting so they can have one dock in the future and all nano, 20, 60 ipods can fit in one dock

You can fully utilize your iPod nano with stuff that comes in the box. The extra dock adapter is just so you could use iPod nano with accesories that were made for "full" 3G & 4G iPod. You get a cable that has a standard USB 2.0/1.1 port and a dock connector on the other side that plugs into your nano.

I'm not going to move this threa next time, but close it. It's not that hard to choose a proper forum and the way you posted this is just an excuse for lazyness. Consider this your first official warning.

Use tags, DO NOT DOUBLE POST, post in proper sub-forum and make meaningfull thread titles and you won't have any problems with me. Do the opposite and you won't like me much.
