Status of AveDesk 1.3

Yeap. Without it a good portion of new AveTunes skin that are being worked on would be useless :P

OK....I downloaded the "Tease", then got scared when I read the readme inside the zip file. How dangerous is it to install and run?

#318785

what?....a teaser....omg!....wait whats this in the readme?!!um errr care to shed some light on this?

edit: wow this is soo cool!....btw i think the readme means to say don't use this with existing desklets as they will not function with this teaser version

wooooo!.....this looks fantastic

Lookin forward to the release of this ... Looks awesome m8 nice one

#318796

It's a beta, what do you expect? ;)

We don't want people who have no clue of what they're doing screwing up their comps and then coming here and whining.

#318801

it's a joke

#318818

Ave you are too generous to us....

#318820

is the stickie in the teaser supposed to flip??? cos mine doesnt :(

#319026

depends on your GPU

#319038

Just downloaded the teaser and this looks / works awesome. I really like the widget preview in the "Control Panel". Not to mention the other little tweaks in the "Global Settings". Can't wait for the final release.

Thanks again Ave.....

I D/L'd the Tease from Unbel siggy last evening and read the Read Me then knew right away something cool was in store!

Arggg! What a Tease it is, can't wait for the real McCoy! This is gotta goin to be the best of all worlds rolled up in one for AveDesk!

Is the unmount bug going to be fixed in this version? As I stated in here: http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/showthread.php?t=28728

Thanks

I tried AveDesk 1.3 today and it was fantastic.

But there is a minor issue on my PC, that the "sucking" effect is a bit slow for practical use.

Is it because of my outdated CPU(Athlon XP 1600+) and GPU (Geforce 2 MX 400), or is it meant to be slow for eye candy?

PS. I love the new Control Panel. It looks great. Thanks Ave.

You can either disable the close effect or speed it up in the control panel.

I've been using the preview for a few days now as my main build. It's perfectly stable, and the previews for the d(es|oc)klets is extremely useful. I have a problem where, after a refresh, all SysStats configs are named SysStats: SysStats, so a preview makes it possible to actually know what's going on. :)

Ave, i really love this and the suckie effect is to die for. But can you make the X button a bit smaller? just a suggestion, tho. And is the Teletext and Translator the same thing? And one thing also: add some more fonts in the Flippy like Trebuchet and Lucida Grande. This indeed is one sweet package. After hectic office work is done i'm off to making the site. Just give me more time, m'kay?

lo Kaloyster.. ;) personally, looking at the 'review' archive there is a close.png in the root - I am guessing (I have not tried it) that you can just change that graphic to change the close image for all desklets.

I wonder if its possible for each deskklet to have its own close image, or is that close.png a kind of 'global' one if there isnt one provided? :) (global one for backward compatability with old desklets which dont offer the function in their setup?)

Is there any chance of adding support for Snarl?

Snarl Thread

Snarl Homepage

It would be good to see Growl-like notifications for Avedesk updates, desklets being added/updated etc. ;)

Thanks for developing such a lovely and brilliant software...you made my pc a promising future.

#323354

Thank you very very much!!!

Nice work! My notebook has a weak GPU (Mobility Radeon 9000 w/ 32MB), and the flipping and sucking effects were very smooth, even when I sped them up. I am VERY impressed.
