i searched for an app like this but i couldn't find any, and i'm no programmer, yet
, but i was wondering if anyone knows of a program or can make a program that allows you to organize your system tray beyond what microsoft allows you to do just in XP. thx in advance!
[req] SysTray organizer
I use a program called PS Tray Factory, http://www.pssoftlab.com/pstf_info.phtml Allows you to hide, change order of the icons in the system tray. Lots of options. However I've yet to find a tool that will allow you to alter icon spacing between icons in the system tray.
There is also this one... I haven't tried it, and it's "Free to try; $15.00 to buy" but the description is similar to what you are looking for.

Now I'm curious, are there any good free programs out there to accomplish this?
Thx for the prgms!

@dreadnaut: If you want to clear those old icon list the registry is at
HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerTrayNotify
They are IconStreams and PastIconStreams, delete those both and restart explorer.exe
